3 Things To Consider When Booking A Banquet Hall For Your Wedding

Posted on: 16 September 2016

If you are planning on getting married next year, now is a great time to book a banquet hall for your wedding. Here are three things that you need to consider when searching for the right banquet hall for your wedding.

#1 Capacity

The first thing you need to take into consideration when booking your banquet hall is its maximum capacity as well as what capacity will feel comfortable with the set-up you want to have. For example, if the capacity of the room is 80, but you want room for sit-down dining and a dance floor and are inviting 80 people to your wedding, the space may be too small. On the flip side, you probably don't want to book a space for 80 people that is designed for 500 people; your guests may feel lost in the large space.

You want to make sure that the space you rent will be able to accommodate the set-up that you have in mind as well as your guests. It is best to go with a banquet hall that is slightly larger than your intended guest list. Remember, the capacity limit for the banquet hall also includes any food and drink personal who will be present, as well as any entertainment personnel.

#2 Location & Transportation

The second thing you need to consider is the location of the venue and how this will impact your guests. Be sure to take into consideration how far the venue is and how easy it will be for your guests to drive to the location.

For example, if the location is far away on a windy road, your guests may not want to navigate it at ten o'clock at night after partying it up at your reception and may not be able to call for a cab. Make sure that the transportation to the location is reasonable for your venue.

#3 Interior

The third thing that you need to take into consideration is what the interior of the venue looks like.

You want to rent a venue that has a clean and well-put together appearance before you even add any directions. You want to be able to build on the ambiance created by the banquet hall itself; you don't want to feel like you are starting with nothing.

Pay attention to the colors in the banquet hall as well and make sure that they work with your wedding colors. For example, if the room has white pillars, it will accommodate a variety of decorations where as if the pillars and carpet are deep red, you are going to want your color theme to work with those color combinations.

When looking for a banquet hall for your wedding, think carefully about the capacity and how that works with your layout, how the location will affect the transportation of your guests, and how the overall ambiance of the banquet hall fits in with your vision of the wedding.
